This is my honest review of the restaurant Café des Amis in Choulex, canton of Geneva, Switzerland. We had a very pleasant lunch at this charming village restaurant. The service was warm and friendly, and we were seated upstairs, where there is a third dining room in addition to the two rooms on the ground floor. I ordered the perch fillets “meunière” with rice and vegetables (rice instead of fries). They were well prepared, and the restaurant offers a choice between local Lake Geneva perch and imported perch, with a noticeable price difference — but the local fillets were generously sized and of good quality. The meunière sauce was slightly on the abundant side, and the seasoning could have been a bit more refined, but overall the dish was enjoyable. I finished with an apple tart, well made and true to the classic recipe. A nice spot for a relaxed meal in the Geneva countryside."
